Questions
Basement finishing FAQ.
What can you build in a finished basement?
Most projects include a family or media room, and many add a bedroom, a bathroom, a wet bar or kitchenette, a home office or a gym. Tell us how you want to use the space and we will plan around it.
Do I need a contractor with plumbing experience?
If your plan includes a bathroom, wet bar or laundry, yes, plumbing is a big part of the job. John Andrews is a Virginia Master Plumber as well as a Class A contractor, so plumbing is planned in from the start instead of treated as an afterthought.
Will you check for moisture before finishing?
A basement should be dry before it is finished. Part of planning the project is looking at moisture and drainage so the finished space stays comfortable.
Are permits and inspections required?
Finishing a basement in Virginia generally involves permits and inspections, along with code items like egress for bedrooms. We will walk you through what your project needs.
Do you offer financing?
We have referrals for several financing options. Ask when you request your estimate.
Which areas do you serve?
Fauquier County and Northern Virginia, including Warrenton, The Plains, Marshall, Bealeton, New Baltimore, Remington, Catlett, Midland and Broad Run.
